Access All Art – Disability Trust Mittagong

1 Short St, Bowral NSW, Australia

Event Date: 8 Jan - 14 Jan 2025, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Access all Art is an annual exhibition for people with disabilities.
This group is based in the Disability Trust Building, Albert St Mittagong where they work with artist Tony Deigan each Monday for two hours. Their group moto is “Art is a Happy Place”

For the past six months, works of famous artists have been shown on a TV screen and these images and colours have quietly influenced some of the groups ideas.

Tony direct and suggests, encourages at all times, reinforcing the fun in the class, the use of lots of paint and a famous mantra often used by Tony “use lots of paint, and don’t be afraid of what you do because you can always change things”

Tony has been their tutor for 6 years and what he enjoys most in working with the group is seeing their work evolve, the pleasure they all gain and their excitement leading to the group exhibition at the Bowral Art Gallery.

Tony trained as a graphic designer and his working background is printmaking. Painting has always been part of his life. He worked at St. Martins School of Art in London before coming to the Highlands. He runs the printmaking workshop classes at the Bowral and District Art Society in Bowral.
