TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Bowral Classic Route Adjustment Due To Roadworks In Berrima Area

Motorists are advised that due to ongoing roadworks, the route of the Bowral Classic cycling event will be re-routed through the Berrima area this Sunday morning, resulting in changes to traffic conditions.

The affected roads include Berrima Road, Taylor Avenue, and the Old Hume Highway, between 7am and 11am.

Cyclists will be travelling south on the Old Hume Highway, passing Oxleys Hill Road turnoff, through Berrima, and then turning left at the traffic circle onto Taylor Avenue. From there, they will continue south on Taylor Avenue through New Berrima, connecting onto Berrima Road towards Moss Vale.

Motorists using Berrima Road between Moss Vale and Berrima should expect significant delays during this period, as traffic will be reduced to a single lane with controlled vehicle movements. Traffic control will be in place at the intersection of Taylor Avenue and Berrima Road to ensure the safety of both cyclists and drivers.

Normal traffic conditions will resume after 11am on Sunday.

Get ready to pedal through the rolling hills of Southern Highlands as you take on 8th annual Bowral Classic.

A staple in the cycling calendar, the Bowral Classic cycling Gran Fondo offers three courses which pass through the picturesque towns of Berrima, Moss Vale, Sutton Forest, Bundanoon, Fitzroy Falls, Robertson and Kangaloon. Choose from the 150km Maxi Classic, 120km Challenge Classic, or the 85km Rouleurs Classic.

The event weekend will kick off on Saturday, 19 October with the inaugural Bowral Classic Brews & Bites Market at Loseby Park, Bowral. Open from 11am – 4pm, there will be a selection of local breweries, wineries and distilleries, along with a range of produce and cycling exhibitor stalls. Plus there will be live music and activities for the whole family.

On Sunday, 20 October the Gran Fondo ride begins from the iconic Bong Bong St, Bowral with riders passing through the Finish Line at the Loseby Park Event Village.

Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or a local joining in on the atmosphere at Loseby Park, there is something for everyone.
