Greener Footprint Fair

The Greener Footprint Fair is a family-friendly event aimed at inspiring and connecting residents with local experts in sustainable living while also offering support for those interested in learning about bushfire preparedness and waste management.

The fair will feature a variety of vendors promoting sustainable living initiatives, providing opportunities for local residents to network. There will be food and beverage stalls, live music, educational booths, animals, and a lineup of speakers covering topics related to sustainability, climate resilience, and waste management.

This year, we are placing greater emphasis on actionable steps that our community can take. Workshops will be offered, including sessions on waste reduction, Indigenous land care education for kids, bushfire preparedness, and initiatives to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

Last year marked the inaugural Greener Footprint Fair, drawing a substantial turnout from the Shire’s community despite the chilly weather in June. This year, we have moved the event to a warmer time of the year, coinciding with the Tulip Time Festival, with the hope of increasing attendance and the overall impact of the event.

As the daytime schedule comes to a close, we will be screening “Rachel’s Farm,” a documentary depicting Rachel Ward’s journey as she transforms her traditional Beef Northern NSW farm into a regenerative farm, enhancing soil fertility and ensuring the farm’s resilience for the future. The film will be introduced by RegenAction, a local group collaborating with the community to promote and implement regenerative farming practices.
