Introducing Bio-intensive polyculture: The Art of Growing More with Less.

Bundanoon NSW, Australia

Event Date: 29 Sep 2024, 9:15 am - 1:15 pm

Self reliance and self sufficiency can be so very easy for experienced vegetable growers. With the 1/2 day workshop in Bundanoon NSW your reward is to double your yield of fresh, crisp vegetables. Vegetables you didn’t have to wait in line for, that actually have flavour, are vibrant and alive and use less resources to produce. This is for anyone who wants to save the planet one meal at a time!

Home vegetable gardeners, urban farmers, or small landholders will be excited by the techniques delivered in our class. What’s even better is that all the permaculture plus methods you learn here are scalable from the balcony to the backyard to the hectare or more. This half day workshop focuses on a regenerative market gardening approach which allows growers to produce more vegetables while conserving resources such as water, space, and nutrients while building healthy soils.

Species Select Poly culture, as specifically developed by Bronwyn Richards of Wynlen House Artisan Village Farm, is suited to cool/cold climates, but can be applied anywhere. It makes use of the many distinct characteristics of vegetable species and their adaptability to grow a wide variety of vegetables in the one plot. It’s very efficient, conserves water, confuses pests, and makes the most use of the smallest spaces.

Endless tea, coffee and home made cake will be served throughout the class.
