Uprooted. An Exhibition by Tania Clancy, Matthew Donnici, Alexandra Seddon and Liam Ryan

BDAS, Bowral Art Gallery

Event Date: 18 May - 23 May 2023, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Uprooted is an exhibition by four creative friends from diverse backgrounds all with a different approach to conveying a message to their audience.

Alexandra Seddon’s creatures are all having conversations, they are not real but somehow they are very alive. All her collages are made from stuff thrown out by others. Occasionally you can glimpse an apple becoming a beetle, or a building becoming a bird.

Tania Clancy is a wildlife carer who has dedicated herself to rescuing and re-habilitating injured wombats. The exhibition is a chance to show her work through photos and to call out to Australians to help our beloved wombats.

Liam Ryan’s work is a homage to the suburb he once lived.“ With the passing of my parents I no longer have a home in that city. I might pass through it on the train going somewhere else but otherwise I will only see it through news bulletins, photos dreams, memories, reflections, reminiscence.
These paintings portray those thoughts and feelings permanently.

Mathew Donnici’s work is mostly figurative and powerful.
“You slow down and spend some time with the subject. It’s meditative and informative. You run some lines over the subject and learn a little thing or two about forms. The end result is a by product”

Come along and meet the artists and the opening on 18 May at 6pm.
Everyone is welcome.
