My art practice centres around painting and drawing. I am comfortable in multiple media and also include fibre elements in my work at times. My work is representational with elements of both surrealism and painting from life. Drawing is a major component of my practice and I have won several prizes for my work.
Artist Biography
“I studied painting as a Major at Sydney College of the Arts. Since that time I have had two solo exhibitions with the James Harvey Gallery in Sydney, and a two person exhibition in Canberra. I have participated in many group exhibitions. My work has been hung in the Portia Geach Memorial Award twice and I have won several prizes for drawing at the Royal Art Society in Lavender Bay.” Maria Sakellariadis
