Artist Description Of Their Work And/Or Studio

I notice the sedges, grasses, vines and rushes wherever I walk. I imagine how these fibres can be woven and shaped to change them from fragile leaves and stems to robust vessels. Yet, the finished forms maintain their connection to the natural world, continuing to age. Their colour fades, the smells wane. Each from lives beyond its creation.

Artist Biography

“I work from a studio on Gundungurra land. I’m inspired by the plants in my garden, always wondering how they can be used and what they might become. I’m a member of Basketry NSW and exhibit in their annual show as well as other local art shows. I’ve won prizes at local shows and my pieces are held in private collections.” Nerida Little
