Dawning Day is the culmination of a 20 year long dream of ours, to own and run our own small vineyard. After much deliberation over site selection, we picked the perfect spot and planted a micro, three acre vineyard in Exeter in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. This cool climate wine region called for varieties like Chardonnay, along with new clones of Pinot Noir from Yalumba nurseries, and our personal favourite Gamay.
On the property we are also establishing bee hives and a self-sustaining food forest based on permaculture principles.
We also make a variety of farm produce onsite at Dawning Day Farms including Farmhouse Pickles, Hot-House Chilli Pickles, Pinot-gar (caramelised Pinot Noir vinegar) Bonfire Hot Sauce and Gin Pickles, made with a shot of our very own ‘The Bandit’ Gin.
And what do you do when a neighbour gives you 300 lemons? Make Limoncello of course! Our Dawning Day Limoncello is handmade with 100% local Southern Highlands lemons using a traditional recipe from the town of Sorrento in Italy.
Cellar Door
Experience a taste of the Southern Highlands at our cellar door with a selection of Dawning Day Wines wines and local produce platters. Choose a glass of wine and a produce platter, then relax by the fire on cooler days, or picnic on the lawn in Summer.
Pets are welcome on leash in our outdoor areas. Bookings are recommended.
Boutique Accommodation
Unwind and stay on the vineyard in our boutique, architecturally designed barn accommodation attached to our winery and cellar door, but completely private.
Immerse yourself in farm life during your stay, feed the sheep and alpacas, or take a stroll through the vineyard at sunset, glass of wine in hand.
