Functional Ceramics Handmade in The Southern Highlands
So, why Elm? Having had a farm in my family which had many elm trees, and now having my own property with just one elm tree, I decided my ceramics business should simply be named Elm!
Also blending in with the name Elm, which also suggests the outdoors and nature, having the studio at the farm lends to the ‘earthiness’ of my ceramic pieces.
Being a practical person, my pieces all have a practical place in the home. They all serve a purpose as well as look great!
All the pieces are made of stoneware which is very strong and durable. They are made by hand (not on a wheel) which gives each piece a unique character to its shape and also the end glaze result.
Pieces are made so they can be collected into a set, making a consistent look at the table.
