Growing up on a farm, and with my parents coming from Europe, we always worked with animals. Never for a minute did I think I would bee working with bees.
In my early 20’s, I thought an adventure was in order, so I left the Southern Highlands and headed north. I still needed money, so one of the first jobs I applied for was as a beekeeper. Who would have thought that the first job would inspire so much passion that it became a lifelong hobby … and now my main job. Who was it that said ‘if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life’? Whoever he was, he was an idiot! Bees are hard work – but so incredibly rewarding!!!
As luck would have it, I was blessed to have a very wise and knowledgeable beekeeper as a mentor and employer. He made the journey interesting and fun. Was it any wonder I fell in love with the furry little blighters. The more I learned about the secret lives of bees, their behaviour and the rules of the bee world, the more my passion grew.
The fun fact that bees pollinate and turn nectar into honey makes the beekeepers role so important in the world today.
There is something magical about moving my bees around the countryside, sourcing different locations, all in the name of the perfect honey. If Mother Nature is kind enough and the timing is right, we get just that … honey that is rich and raw and really good!!!! And the real winners are you the customers.
We look forward to showing you just how delicious our honey can bee (had to do it)!!
