Sonja has focused her skills in colour pencil and has successfully achieved the techniques of hyper-realism. Sonja has spent a lifetime with horses and has also engaged with many face- to-face opportunities with wildlife which has greatly influenced her practice.
Artist Biography
“Sonja, formally a graphic designer, working in advertising as a junior art director before moving to independent status as a freelance illustrator. She has spent a lifetime with horses working in the thoroughbred industry where she combined the two professions. Her work has been recognized in major art prizes and commission work.” Sonja Bowden
