Susan creates simple Japanese inspired forms. Usually bowls, bottles and cylinders They are glazed simply in subdued colours, often white and celedon . The forms lean towards the imperfect, giving the traditional a subtle twist.
Artist Biography
“I have been obsessed with clay for the past 30 years. I was a student at Sydney College of the Arts from 1995-2007, where I completed my PhD titled ‘Grace of an Instant’, which looked at moments of creativity. My forms are Zen inspired, they are simple and subdued, meant to convey serenity and peacefulness.” Susan Landau
