Artist Description Of Their Work And/Or Studio
Tessa is an Australian potter producing wheel-thrown and handbuilt forms. Her work explores the contrast between textures, colours and apparently perfect and imperfect forms. Her work is held in private collections in the US, UK and Australia and she has exhibited in Canberra, Sydney and Yass. Most recently she was selected to participate in the annual Pottery Expo, Warrandyte and Penrose At Exhibition. She was awarded the Craft ACT 2021 Emerging Artist Award.
Artist Biography
“Tessa is influenced by her environment: green, misty farmland, lichen, mosses, rich red and black soils and rainforest tumbling to the coast, on Gundungurra country near Robertson, NSW. In both her domestic and sculptural work, she is seeking to explore further textures and altered forms, pushing the physical boundaries of the clay and experimenting with glazes and slips.” Tessa Hoser
